When air freight makes sense
When the cost of waiting is higher than the freight difference compared with ocean.
- Spare parts that prevent a production stop
- High-value goods
- Perishable and temperature-sensitive cargo
- Samples and launches with a commercial deadline
Air freight vs. ocean freight
Air is faster and more expensive; ocean is more economical for larger volumes.
Air rates are charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so packaging dimensions are decisive. There are also restrictions for dangerous goods and size limits by aircraft type.
Freighters and special cargo
Large or heavy cargo may require freighter aircraft.
When cargo exceeds passenger-aircraft limits, we coordinate freighter space, with palletization and handling planned at the airport.
How it works
- QuoteWeight, dimensions, packaging and airports.
- BookingSpace reservation and AWB issue.
- Drop-offPick-up or delivery at the cargo terminal.
- FlightFlight and connection follow-up.
- DestinationClearance and delivery to consignee.
Typical use cases
- Industrial emergencies and spare parts
- High-value cargo
- Electronics and sensitive components
- Commercial samples
Points to check
- Volumetric weight of the packaging
- Dangerous goods classification (DGR)
- Suitable packaging and palletization
- Terminal cut-off times
